I’ve perused such countless negative, pompous surveys of this film and I need to say, LIGHTEN UP for the good of paradise! It’s not intended to remain with Ghandi or Gone With the Wind. It’s simply a fun, senseless film with a slight plot and loads of snickers and sight gags. Go to see it since you simply need to sit back with your popcorn and snicker. (Also, dream about George Clooney.) Clooney gave us “Great Night and Good Luck”, so dislike we should feel he “owes” us a “genuine” film. It’s a feathery little piece of wistfulness, a film you won’t be reluctant to go see with your tween-age children or Mom and Pop. Gramps will adore it as well, with all the striking pictures of “bygone times” and an extraordinary jazz score.
